I highly recommend visiting Cambodia, and especially Angkor Wat in Siem Reip, which I predict will surpass the pyramids in Egypt within a decade as the most popular historical tourist destination. The country is really fascinating, and learning about the genocide they went through so recently and seeing the remnants of it still haunting the people are a very memorable experience.
