I certainly don't condone killing someone elses pet, and I think it sucks if your dog had to suffer during its death which it probably did.
HOWEVER: There is almost nothing more cruel, ignorant, uneducated, rude, mean, careless and downright SHITTY than forcing neighbors to listen to your dark bark all the time. NOTHING.
People spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on their home. It is their ultimate sanctuary, their castle. Then some fucking moron who gives zero fuck about anyone but himself (not saying you, meaning the typical barking dog owner) puts out some stupid dog that barks 20 hours a day and completely ruins the neighborhood for EVERYONE who has moved there.
You have absolutely NO idea how annoying it is to invest about $200k into your home and property, and make everything perfect. Then have to sit thru every dinner, every favorite TV show, every family visit, listening to some ASSHOLE neighbors dog bark and bark and bark endlessly for no reason, while the dogs owner just sits inside and listens to it.
Not to be insensitive to your loss, but if you had neighbors who had complained and your dog was still out there, you showed zero regard or concern for people who spent every nickle they had to invest in the American dream of their own home, and had it ruined because you wanted to have a barking sack of guts in your backyard. Does that sound fair to you?
Sorry but it really pisses me off to listen to dog owners minimize ruining an entire neighborhood for people.
