Tore up my left shoulder back in '92 going through JOTC at Ft. Sherman in Panama. Got it put back together pretty well, the doc did a good job. You always have to be concious of what your doing, and take care of it with weights and such. It will never be like it was, and over time it will weaken and your range of motion will grow smaller. Cold weather makes it ache, sleep on it wrong and you might not be able to use it for the day, etc. Nothing at all like Mel Gibson popping it back in and then kicking everyone's ass
