I dislocated my right shoulder several times when I was 16-19. Then at 19 I ripped the cap right off the bone and had to have a steel pin put in it to hold it in place.
I had nightmares about dislocating my should again for years. If I lay on my back, I can easily get into a panic attack about it. Just thinking about it will make myself sick so I try to think about butterflys and flowers while writing this.
Worst worst worst experience I ever had. Took 1 year to recover physically and 20 years of fear it would happen again. I still can't move my arm the way I used to. I keep it close to my body and will fight like a banshee and gouge your eyes out if someone grabs my right arm and trys to put it behind my back. If someone grabs my right arm, I take it very very seriously.
I also dislocated my left shoulder, but somehow it went back in, and is now normal. I dislocated my left should when I was 30, maybe age helped it to be more "settled" so it wasn't nearly as bad.
