It is a difference of generation and age too.. and what we were brainwashed to believe as children.. and what we weren't....
There truly are heartless, cold, people who believe that capitalism is king and people can make themselves better if they choose to and all this... and I teeter on this. I come from WV... where idiot rednecks ride the state welfare system like a donkey... that's tragic.. but I've also seen single moms working 3 jobs and getting no where.. paying taxes.. children not getting healthcare because she makes just a tad too much for the state welfare healthcare..
I've seen old people not get cancer treated.
I've seen sheriff's deputies who worked for the sheriff's dept suddenly evaluated and downsized after a heart attack that required alot of follow up care at the hospital.. (increased insurance)...
I don't want that anymore.. and if it means I"ve gotta pay higher taxes for a more humane nation.. so be it.
Some people just weren't raised to give a damn about others... there's a coldness in them. Oh well. Ya can't change people.
