In this case, the perception is the reality. We are hate killing machines that started an illegal war, did get help then ignored by most nations once they found out we lied. Our War hungry Gov lied to the people several several times. Now our political and economic levels are a joke to most nations and the people of the world look at the American Citizens and wonder why we haven't put a stop to it.
Reality just kicked perception in the balls.
