Does anyone have any advice on things NOT TO DO when emailing so that your important emails are not perceived as spam?

ok..
#1. Check your IPS. If your ips get too much complaints from an ISP they blacklist it.
#2. Check mail limits, some isps like google have an hourly limit and if u pass it they spambox u automatically
#3. Make sure your domain isnt RBLed. Theres many sites you can check RBL status.
#4. Get RDNS, SPF.
Honestly message doesnt matter. Ive run optin mail campaigns with full blown messages. I do get little point because of message, but then the IP is clean, domain is clean, i have SPF and RDNS = inbox.
Oh yeah dont send batches. Just send email 1 at a time. And since you are probably sending optin, include the persons name in the email if u have it, helps conversions alot.
Example, Mr J Smith, do you need a new car loan?
etc.
