Streaming at for example 6 mbps is fine for the 8+ mbps adsl users and there's a lot of them even though they aren't even nearly a majority. Nevertheless such files are mainly for download and having the ability to stream them will only mean more in the future.
Also I guess if you have that kind of material you can also have a lot better converting free samples as the "download highest quality sample" option beside the more standard kbps streaming sample.
Besides, I want high quality videos also for the reason that my standard kbps versions would look better as well.

if you really want to stream 6 mbps i can only wish you good luck, even with Level 3 CDN or Highwinds CDN i had a rate of 50% failure at 3 mbps - even with people sitting on a 20 mbps connection. because you can't control what happens between the delivery server and the peoples homes. one slow node screws up the whole system
