Metal Gear Solid 4 was great also, but it had like 8 hours of cut scenes(not even kidding) filled with incomprehensible, melodramatic gibberish. The game overall was a masterpiece, but you need some down time to play it.

Mercs 2 does indeed kick ass, but it's available for the 360 and the online setup is much easier to use on that format. There aren't many games available on both systems where the PS3 version is the one to get...and it's usually because of their shit online system. I've been without a 360 for a few months and this game (and a few coming up) have me scouring Craigslist today.
