Saban losing to his old school in Baton Rouge - I don't think so! I think Bama will be able to use LSU and Auburn (the last 2 ranked teams they play) to climb back up in the rankings after a non-ranked team spanks them and they drop down to around #15 - maybe finish up the year in the top 10.
I don't drink the kool-aid but it's hard not to take a sip. Bama is much like Obama - undeserving of holding the top spot. The experience just ain't there yet. Alabama just can't finish a game. After half-time, they tend to sit back on their heels and try to "ride-out" their lead. Even some of the coaches take on that mentality. Hell, Alabama played Georgia man to man in the first half - shutting them down but in the second half they went to zone and Georgia picked their secondary apart.
A great team picks their opponent apart for 4 quarters - not just the first 2.
Honestly, what really makes me happy isn't their raking this year - it's all the press Alabama has gotten and Saban's willingness to play freshmen players. Any prospect doesn't want to sit out their freshman year riding the bench. When they see that Saban keeps his word to play them (as in Julio Jones) - this helps with recruitment and THAT is how a dynasty gets built. My high hopes is for the 2009 season.
SweetT - Georgia's a great team with incredible resilience and I'm thinking (tho not hoping) that we'll be playing again in the SEC Championship game. I honestly don't know if Alabama can do it twice
