Even those aspiring and imaginative kinds of movies require to at least introduce models to a viewer, camera shaking will be quite noticable at this point. When you get closer to models shakings will get less noticable, but they will still be there. Also when you run from one point to the other, camera movements will be quite noticable, no experience is going to make up for that. No matter the experience, handheld = shitty amateurish look of your footage and I just can't stand it.
That being said, your assertion that handheld HD footage doesn't look good unless one uses a jib or a tripod is ridiculous and the idea of using a small crane for a pov scene is as laughable as it is impractical in most cases.
If you're using jib or a tripod that's not handheld anymore. And surely using any of the above is absolutely practical, modern toys are lightweight and versitle.
What is really ridiculous, that is the whole idea of a handheld gonzo porn.
