Sounds great. You belong to a small minority though, most just don't care and shoot handheld thinking it's OK because its porn, and all others are shooting same way.
Unless its a pov that just wont work except for handheld.
Small cranes are the best for POVs. They're not a big deal bigger than tripods, but far more versitle.
Also Glidecam can do the job, not as smooth as stedicam, but better than handleld anyway. Also some of the more expensive tripods allow more flexiblity, you can shoot nice POVs with them - probably not all the POVs you want, but still quite a lot of possible angles.
I really don't see how Hd would show more shakiness than sd.
Because of higher resolution, that's obvious. Same camera movement will show more pixel shift at HD and will be more noticable.
