Wrong. It can live up to 7 days and it dies of dehydration, not starvation. It can go more than a month without food. An they can live on almost anything, even the glue from an envelope and they easily find water from the condensation on the pipes under and behind refrigerators.

Depending on the species, a roach can squeeze into a crack the thickness of a dime.

A "rem" is the dosage of radiation that will cause a specific, measured amount of injury to human tissue. Humans can withstand about 800 before dying. German roaches can withstand up to 105,000 REMS before dying. Which proves the theory that after a nuclear holocaust cockroaches will be the only things left.
