The main weather tower for Miami was built of concrete, as it should have been, and was supposed to be able to withstand HUGE hurricane force winds. it last reported the winds at 179 mph, and 30 min later, the tower was gone. Andrew was one of VERY few hurricanes to ever get a class 5 rating.
