Her goal = security, explain a government job as well
You can only advance so much within the government so career does not seem to be the real reason.
It's difficult to understand for a lot of people that do not understand the online industry that it actually require a lot of, it makes it even more difficult to understand if you actually enjoy your work.
Saying her job makes a difference and yours don't is bullshit, both for online and offline it make a difference somehow to someone, if she really wanna be special and make a difference, ask her to do charity work instead, as long as it pays there will always be someone willing to take over and do the same
