Yesterday evening I was in a parking lot of a local strip (well sort of, more like a bhig square) mall with a large grocery store, video store, fast food places, etc etc.

So I'm driving along one of the main arteries that leads to the exit, when I notice Mr. Magoo's great grandfather driving an old fucking Dodge. This guy was 100 if he was a day, and thick, thick glasses. He rolls over his stop line, I see him coming and stop, just as he slams on his brakes.

So I'm looking over at this old guy and wave him to turn left in front of me. I figured he's already halfway out in front of me anyway, and no traffic oncoming to me will be able to get through.

He looks my direction. I wait a few minutes and wave him through again. Nothing. Not sure if he can see me or not, but figure he can't see me waving. I shrug and start to move just as he decides I must be waiting for him and starts to pull out again.

Since we're doing like 1KM, I just stop and again wave him on. He looks my direction, slams on the brakes, then slams it in to reverse. At this point I start frantically waving both hands, and SCREAMING through the open window and sunroof at him "STOP STOP STOP STOP!!!".

He backs right in to the middle aged single mom looking lady right behind him. Sigh. I went to get a fucking protein shake, I don't want to spend a fucking hour in a parking lot. Anyway, I stop, get out and walk over. The old man is still sitting in his car looking at traffic as if he's going to pull in. I knock on his window, it startles him but he opens it.

Me "Sir, you've been in an accident. You can't leave."
Him "WHAT??"
Me "An accident, sir. You hit the lady behind you."
Him "WHAT? WHO?"
Me "The lady behind you, that lady right over there. You hit her."
Him "She HIT ME?? WHEN?"
Me "No, you hit her."
Him "WHO?"

I just gave the fuck up. Gave the lady my name and phone number, told her I'd absolutely be a witness for insurance and not to worry I saw him back in to her clearly. Holy fuck though, someone like that shouldn't be driving at all. She had already called the police so hopefully they'll make sure he's done driving. What a disaster.
