Sandy police say they have found Elizabeth Smart alive. Police confirmed at 3 p.m. Wednesday that the girl was located in the suburb, and are planning to hold a news conference later this afternoon.
Smart, the 14-year-old daughter of Edward and Lois Smart, disappeared from her Salt Lake City home early Wednesday, June 5, 2002. The search for the missing girl become a nationwide hunt that concluded 280 days later when she was found today in a Sandy neighborhood.
