He always told me I could go visit them when ever I wanted, but being in my twenties and that I never did. The last time I saw my Grandma I was 18 years old and I told them that I would make an effort to come visit. Anyway, to make a long story short, one year on my Birthday a card from Grandma never showed up. I thought about it for only a second, but pushed it to the back of my head. Then Xmas came around and again, no card.. When I didn't get the Xmas card I got a bad feeling, but just summed it up too "maybe she gave up trying to reach out" Well 3 years went by and each year no card. On the third year my Dad's sister who hasn't seen or talked to in over 12-15 years finally calls us to let us know that she had passed away 3 years earlier. She was a sweet old lady. I miss her sometimes.

It's crazy how some families dont acknowledge each other. Of course falling outs go on in life.
I didnt find out til 2 or 3 years ago that my mother has siblings. I knew all about my grandparents. But my mother failed to even mention to me that she has brothers and a sister. She talks to them and even just got back from visiting one across country. But up until 2 or 3 years ago yhere was no mention of each other.
She tells me no specific reason that she didnt mentiont hem - but WTF?
I know my Fathers brothers, always have.
crazy people man.
Ive always wondered about my family tree - but havent researched one bit. I dont even know of any relatives earlier than my grandparents.
