There is no hard & fast date given, just a general agreement that the days of creation mentioned in Genesis were literal, 24 hour days. They assume a priori that the bible is infallible, so if it says 24 hour days, 24 hour days it is. Standard geological dating be damned.

You are correct except I will mention that it is only fundalmentalists that belive the 24 hour day and the infallibility of the Bible.
To answer Chodadog's question. Not all fundalmentalists agree on Ussher's date, but almost all fundalmentalists believe the creation began within the time frame that Ussher presented and there are various dates presented. Usually a date is established by picking, what is
thought to be, a known event in time and tracking Biblical geneology from that point in time.
