I think there was extreme pressure on him to take Hilary, but I am one of those people that think she was a bad choice. She comes with a ton of baggage and her presence alone would have activated the far right. As it was, it took McCain's hail mary pass to activate them. I think the country might be ready for a black president and they might be ready for a women, but I don't think they are ready for both on the same ticket.

Maybe they would have run away with it, but I actually think she would have done him more harm than good and could have cost him more votes than she was going to help him bring in.
