It's because Republicans own pretty much all the major news outlets, including Faux news, and therefore, they paint McCain as this maverick and hope for America and Barack as this guy that just started learning politics
It's the same thing with the Bush/Kerry thing. Why on earth did we favor Bush over Kerry? People gotta unplug, do their research and draw their own conclusions. They can't have the media feeding them shit and just take it word for word.
