If you found an industry or company that supplied a product you did not really need, the product was not very good, the service was poor and to top it all they tried to over charge you. Would you keep buying the product or from the company?

There are countless examples over the last 8 years of scandals when it came to sponsors ripping off affiliates, even a highly visible link to a place that does not pay the affiliate is considered a terrible thing.

Ripping off the customer has never really been a major problem until the number of pissed off customers made a huge impact on our earnings. Then it became a major problem and everyone was up in arms.

As an industry we put the customer third and now we are paying the price for it.

Cross Sales are not new and just one of the reasons people don't buy porn as much as they use to. But it won't stop until we realise that traffic is not King, the customer is and ripping him off, disappointing him and not selling him what HE needs leads to one end. He stops buying.

One of the main reasons for cross sales is to pay affiliates more than the sign up to one site pays. So think about it not as an individual but as an industry problem.

We need to think long term if we want to be long term.
