I can't say that with any certainty one way or another.
I can tell you it was white knuckle time the first 2 or 3 weeks. After the dust cleared I lost about 20 members. But again I can't even confirm that I really "lost" them. They wrote me all pissed off and said they were canceling.
But for all I know they were the ones stealing my shit anyway and/or may have planned to cancel anyway that month. So I basically had 20 emails from members who did not rebill. And that 20 number isn't accurate. I honestly didn't keep track. It may have been a couple less or a couple more.
I can also say, that the last update I did that was a .wmv (though it isn't anymore) was up on a tube AND a torrent site the same day I put it in the members area. That was my final straw. And I was seeing decreased sales as our entire paysite was pretty much available on the tubes and torrents.
But starting 7 updates ago...none of the new updates are on tubes or torrents. And I hired removeyourcontent.com to go after the old ones.
And they have kicked ass. Including today when they had a ton of serps removed from Google of sites like PB that refuse take down requests.
And now I'm seeing sales picking back up the way they used to be. I'm not a big believer in coincidence. And I've been working every day on this change-over as I have been personally rendering the entire members area. My high quality h264's take almost 8 hours to render a 25 minute clip using Premier CS3 with the Main Concept MPEG plug in. Then I make a lower bit rate version for people who don't have as much of a kick ass connection. That takes about 2 hours of rendering for that same movie.
It's been a lot of man hours and has kept my main workstation tied up for almost 2 months.
But yes, I do believe that is the reason I am seeing an upsurge in sales. Much more so than any of the hundreds of sites that I promote on my tgps. They are still pretty stagnant.
