You do get what you pay for when it comes to design (and everything else in life). The complaint earlier, that the good designers charge more when they realize they can make more, says it all. Good designers cost more, end of story.
Just because you continuously sucker kids out of art school, or third party off shore hacks, doesn't mean you are getting a good deal. It just means you are cheap.
You are saying you want great designs to grab your customer's attention, to convert them, to make you more money... but you don't want to spend good money on good designers...
It takes money to make money. Spend the money to make a GREAT product, not a mediocre one and you will make more in the long run.
