I still remember a hurricane that hit Halifax, N.S. back in the early 70s (during high tide cycle).
It snapped an under-construction oil rig loose in Halifax harbour and sent it towards one of the bridges that crosses over to Dartmouth.
It also reversed the flow of the river in Bedford Basin and did major flooding of all areas upstream. Tossed yachts around in the marina like they were little toys.
