New Orleans is not full of people on welfare. Please provide some data other than what you heard on fox news during hurricane Katrina if you're going to continue to insult the people here. New Orleans today is alot different than the New Orleans of 5 years ago.

The federal government is in charge of building and maintaining the levees. State and Local Governments have absolutely no say in this matter. It is federal law and we have no choice but to be at the mercy of the feds. The FEDERAL GOVERNMENT decided to have a timeline for rebuilding our levees that would have them completed in 2011. The levees breaking is why New Orleans flooded last time, and the levees being topped and/or broken this time will be why New Orleans floods, if it floods.
It might make you feel better to think that it's the fault of all the stupid blacks on welfare who were lazy during the last 3 years and didn't prepare properly....but the person at fault is a Yale educated white guy from a wealthy family who lives on Pennsylvania Ave, along with the people who work for him.

It does not matter that you have paid then longer then some of them. As for the people on welfare in New Orleans would you like the stats before or after Hurricane Katrina because I have both. Well I can ask you why the hell should US tax payers be paying for low income housing for people born and raised in the USA?
