I wanted to clarify the point that Oceania had made.
It is true that terrestrial radio stations do NOT pay performance royalties. As far as I know they do however pay out to the songwriters though.
Here are some links regarding terrestrial radio stations and they royalties they don't pay along with the facts on what satellite and internet broadcasters are paying.
