We are still finding oil on earth that we didn't know was there and we've been
on this planet for more than a few days.

A big pocket of uranium found on the moon might be worth something.
The moon could be made of platinum right now and it still would not be financially worth it to go get it and bring it back.

Oh and a small FYI it is easier to deal with the moon than our own planet. All of that fucking water makes shit very complicated. Why in the hell do you think we know so much about other shit and hardly anything about a great chunk of our own planet.
