The drive(s) inside the box is most likely made by seagate, western digital, maxtor (now seagate), hitachi, or samsung. You can find the serial number on the drive then contact the manufacturer and let them know the drive isn't working correctly. They should give you a RMA# so you can get another one from them. That way you don't have to go buy a new one.
