I severely curtail my posts no, because I realize I've paid so much for an excellent education, why should I give one away for free? It is more fun to rabble rouse.
In this case...the truth is stranger than fiction, as it is always funny to see poor ignorant whites deluded into to thinking blacks were/are their enemy...
Go do a search on "The Lost Cause." LOL, and you will see how ridiculous most claims of "southern heritage," are. The South did indeed support an Anglican (Episcopalian) aristoricracy in the ante-bellum South...but that was just about as good for poor whites as black slaves LOL. The creation of most modern elements of "southern heritage," arose after the resoundingly devestating psychological defeat of the Civil War.
One of life's great ironies...poor whites defend an image of the South that never existed--to substantiate the resounding loss of life and utterly humilating defeat of the Civil War. Unfortunately, this defense of the lost cause keeps blacks and whites in the south from in acting meaningful social change...oh well...
