hey jscott,

i wouldnt waste your time with a lawyer. i would just pack up and leave. while im no attorney, i do think that most of those contracts are unenforceable, and i dont think youre at a level which would warrant them actually getting lawyers involved. if the service has been poor, and you can get a better deal elsewhere, just take it and leave. i dont think a court would uphold such a long contract, plus the service is poor, plus i doubt its even worth them to sue you (imagine a lawyer charges $250-350 an hr, etc). get your stuff out and to a new host (which doesnt make you sign a contract, which is now the industry norm), then once your moved and off, call them up, let them know you moved, pay your latest bill, and let them know you could give fuck all about their contract, and you're out. they may threaten you but thats probably about it, its a sign they are a terrible host.
