I don't. I do understand that a short war will take fewer Iraqi lives in the long run then to allow Saddam and/or his party to remain in power for whatever indefinite period of time. In addition if we suceed in establishing a democratic republic their future lives will be greatly improved.

We have supported some that we should not have, for longer periods than we should have. Mistakes have been made, but usually because of the "the enemy of my enemy is my friend". This happened frequently during the "cold war", this has also happened with the war on drugs etc. We have not had perfect leaders that have always made perfect decisions, and never will.
