I see this thread takes a interesting turn.
When it comes to friends, people are more motivated to help.

Yes, i would help when there is a situation that is far beyond imagination, like the case of the special wheel chair for a guy, last year, or the year before that. I did donated 25 Bucks to this, I complete forgot who this person was, i did read it on a site he placed in his sig, and as i recall he was listing those who donated on a website he was hosting, something like that is more then normal to do. I am not sure who this was, but this is one of the rare cases I donated. This on the side, it was gifted with pleasure. I seem to be more helpfull when it is a situation that is beyond human mistakes so to say. I never updated myself what the outcome was of this thread, just cause i donated and closed the case for myself on that same day, the thread, situation was real, and never kept me busy.

Accidents, health ( disability, need for tools, medication ) , disaster by nature... those 3 are for sure situations that make me donate. And I do not expect then a pay back, it is a gift, cause it is part of being human, helping out.

A few years ago, somewhere in 2002, someone was not able to pay for the hospital bill, and it affected the quality of treatment he received. He did a thread elsewhere and received more then he needed to pay. He paid without hesitation the money back before it was even mentioned.

I also recall me JimTheFiend, who hit me up many times on Yahoo, asking for money, cause he could not pay for his medicines, he said he was suffering on cancer and needed meds to pay. I decided to buy his worthless sig for 1 month, 1 week after that he got banned. He was active on a other board, but never thought about furfilling his SIG obligation there. But thats Jimthefiend, a everlasting asshole.
Last news on his is that he is building a house and he marriages this year with a nice girl. I never heard from him anything back about his HEALTH situation. you would say he would update his friends from time to time to report he would be cured or something, but no no, not a word on that, so he might keep that in the dark because he was complete lying his ass of.

So Jim if you read this, could you please tell me, and others, anywhere how your cancer is doing? Your life seems to be back to normal, about to marriage with a girl, building a house with your own hands ( as those are you words ) did you used a Cancer story cause your life was so fucked up, you could blame it on that one? And people would have more consideration for your begging for money?

Anyway, to not drift of, helping here is not a bad thing, when the story the poster will come with is based on something that is to verify. Special cases that involve health, accidents ( like Paul his wife ) and disasters ( hurricanes, vulcanizations, tsunamis, etc etc ) deserve attention.

About paying back donations done by posters who do not fall under above 3 categories, i also still have to read the first one. It would give me so much JOY to read that from time to time, so GFY gets a more moral meaning also, it is GOOD to read people thanking for gifts, and saying in public also HOW this money was SPEND!... This would HONOR those who have decided to gift money in a situation that is not even so bad.

I still need to see the first thread on GFY where someone pays the TO MUCH money back to those who donated cause he was helped out 10 donations ago already, but the thread generated more then expected.

To those who were able to post today on this subject, many thanks. It is important to separate begging from those who CRY OUT for a helping hand.

The begging people destroy it for those who really need it. A general cold wind appears then as soon a thread starts with not a begging intention, but a ask for human help.
