Americans; no matter where they are, have the same invested interest in their flag and the "symbols" of your country. I said, I thought it was simple minded to have that level of emotions in an abstract notion like a flag.
Especially when you're all complaining about JoeSixpack when you already regard him as the lesser person. Why would it bother you?
Just after the WTC attack, I noticed a change in the US, everyone in the US instantly put up the flag as if to show their country's pride? so that's it, eh, people? only when something goes wrong will you show your true colours?
A lot of you argue about "armchair" experts. If you're using that flag of yours to show your identity, fine. When you put your flag up only the times you support your country, I think you're more shallow than the government that runs you.
Pride should be a 100% of the time thing, not just when it makes you feel better about trivial shit. I saw that commercial too "they wanted to change America... well they did (insert image of small amount of flags on houses to ridiculous amounts of flags on houses)"
How fucking convenient. Who are you showing by the way? your own neighbor? who is already an American... yeah that's taking real action for your country. The truth be known, you don't really give all that much of a shit about your flag.
Be patriotic all you like on an internet forum. We know the truth.
