I.e. he wasn't Russian and of course he wasn't a soldier for sure. Looks like he was one from the South Ossetian militia. If so, there is nothing strange to me. Right now South Ossetians are VERY angry at Georgians who killed their mothers, wives and kids (just read a few Ossetian blogs to understand what I'm talking about).

This is Caucasus! FYI: they still have a blood feud there. Do you remember Kaloev? He was an Ossetian...
