It's still pretty silly when you think about it. China is more worried about winning a gold medal in gymnastics than having their own citizens make more than 30 cents a day. Just fucked up priorities if you ask me.

It's the typical communist motto.. think you are fooling the world when everyone knows you are full of shit. They always think if they win things like gold metals that it means they are a "real" world power. USSR was the same way back in it's heyday.
Look at North Korea.. their capitol has huge multi lane roads that are all empty and high rise buildings that are all there for show because they are empty inside. It's all about the show and thinking they are fooling the world.
The girls are defiantly under age.
