If I was in the same situation, I would sue both of them for everything they are worth. One for re-licensing things they have no rights for, and the other for copyright violations.
In the meantime, I would make is saucy by going after their infrastructure. knocking them out of SERPS, and other such entertainment.
I am sure once you start knocking out their business infrastructure then you will find them a bit more cooperative.

Planning on doing this .... giving the other party til next monday to take down .... hoping they will comply before then but it doesn't seem ... atleast at this point ... they will. It's more Mr X's fault ... however, the other party still can't cont to use ... even though they paid for it . I supplied Mr X with copies of 2257 info for the dvd release since pureplay would need to have on file to use .... he probably gave them those .... even though they are not his to give. tia
