Your hands can be behind your back and you can be willing but if you start taking painful blows to the face, head or anywhere else (whether you did something wrong or not) how can you NOT instinctively cover up or reach out to block the hand beating you?
Picture you getting your ass violently whipped by 3 people at once from every angle, and all you "NEED" to do is stay still and put your hands behind your back to make them stop. You don't know how many blows are going to come your way when you put your guard down, how long it will take for them to stop OR even if they are going to stop... a fight is a fight is a fight.

Come ON! A cop is yelling at you to GET ON THE GROUND... and you stand there like a dumb fuck.. your going to get your head kicked in.. you do the crime.. you get what's coming to you.. stupidity is not a defense.
Needless to say, i'm sure the first half of this movie is that stupid twit probably acting like a tough guy and taking a swing at the cop or maybe he pulled out a gun who knows... but theres more to this story than some "victim" of police brutality.
