There is a small town outside the gate with a general store. But going in and out is a major deal, takes a couple hours and costs $20 or something.
You wouldn't want to go outside the gate unless you absolutely had to. It would be like putting on clothes, and going to the grocery store for supplies while a huge orgy was going on in your apartment. PAINFUL.
And ASM, the concept (and results) of "gifting" are more harder to explain than you;d think. So its an common mistake even among burners. I didn't really understand the difference between it and barter until my 4th burn. (and seeing the movie
