I'm buying up graphic novels for my reading these days, and here si what I've recently read:
Civil War + tie-ins
- This is probably one of the better storylines in years. Lots of interesting side stories to it as well on lesser characters.
House of M / Decimation M + tie-ins
- Haven't got all of the tie-ins just yet (because they haven't all been released as graphic novels yet), but as a longtime X-Men fan, another extremely interesting storyline and different takes on lesser characters and their history.
X-Men: Emperor Vulcan
- Was never a fan of any of the X-Universe 'outer space stories' and while this was a short read, it was kind of boring. I'm not a fan of the Shi-Ar, Havok, The Starjammers et all, so that's probably why my dislike.
Ultimate X-Men: Vol 1 - 18
- Excellent series, great artwork, the best X-Men series going right now IMO.
The Complete Age of Apocalypse Epic
- While I read most of these previously, some stories are enjoyable whereas many of the side stories/lesser characters are really boring. Especially kids like Generation Next. I wouldn't recommend it while there is so much else out there to get to first.
X-Men: Messiah Complex
- This ties in with the House of M stuff, and is another solid read as I enjoy Sinister greatly.
Secret War
- Kind of bland compared to Civil War, I'd have to say this was slightly uninspired. I did like the fact they got to use a lot of lesser villains though and tie them all together in the masterplan.
Avengers: Dissassembled
- Good story, important deaths. Not a waste of time at all.
X-Men: Endangered Species
- Not as good as Messiah Complex, but entertaining nonetheless even though it mainly focuses on the Beast and trying to find a 'cure'.
Next one up for my reading is:
New Avengers: Illuminati
House of M: Incredible Hulk
