When I was doing FX, I wasn't making more than $30.00 an hour. I made all my money on residual checks, and still make money from movies I worked on 10 years ago.
I have been cranking out 300 scenes, trailers and whatever else each year since I left TripleXCash, and to be honest this isn't all it's cracked up to be either.
Working in porn is a young mans job. This is an 18 year old boys wet dream. 16 years later, It tends to lose it's luster.
A friend of mine is old enough to be my father and he eats and breathes porn, and to listen to him talk scares the shit out of me. I don't want to end up like him. Pussy, and the pursuit of pussy has destroyed him.
But I digress...
A friend of mine left FX several years ago to become an editor and she ended up cutting the trailers for Lord of the Rings and she had her name mentioned at the Oscars.
There comes a point in most mens lives when you look back to see what legacy you'll leave behind. And Mr. Gunn... right about now, mine is looking pretty grim.
And as far as working in porn or mainstream, the money doesn't matter to me. When you do something for fame or fortune, you're doing it for the wrong reasons. You'll never be happy. I've made more money in porn than I could ever make in mainstream, and to be honest I was happier in mainstream. My old man told me that it doesn't matter what you do in life, just as long as you're happy. I didn't believe him, and I wasted 16 years learning that lesson.
So thanks for your concern Mr. Gunn, but again I say... to each his own.

Handle it dawg... that stuck you in a rather impressive light in my book.
