OK, I´ll try to give a serious reply. I used to run my servers in Germany. They offered long time contracts only, boxes were quite expensive and service was low. When I switched to a US company I got excellent support, much better prices and I´m not forced in a long time contract. So I have to agree that there are advantages.
On the other hand I may quote Mark Twain here:
