Burdened with the responsibility for nothing less than the literal survival of the human race. It could be said that everything has that undercurrent, because it's not something you can decide or undecide. Reasoning ability and high brain function is not "instead of", its "in addition to" the basic animal instincts.. such as mating and survival. So saying that women simply know such things is really not a stretch. It's just shorthand.
