Hope this helps...

First check to see if its your power supply before you go any further... sometimes the problem is the actual cord from the power supply to the harddrive(s)... also check your bios settings to make sure you have such picking up your harddrive(s)... Sometimes when a power supply is dying a motherboard can act up. I have seen a power supply smoke a motherboard and yea... I was kind of pissed off since it was my motherboard... ^^
