I'm well aware of what the top movies are if adjusted for inflation. I'm counting actual $$$. I probably spend more time at boxofficemojo.com than I do here.

One could make the case that if Americans in 1939 had TV, internet, DVD players, video games and other entertainment options they would have been less likely to go see Gone With the Wind. How many times you didn't see a movie you were somewhat interested in and said "I'll watch it on DVD" What if there wasn't a home video market? Wouldn't movies have higher box office?
