Despite all the previous postings i don't think the UK is in a mess. We, as a society, have got our priorities wrong on certain things. (Living to work for example). But by and large most folk are decent and hardworking
As to knife crime, it's only in the news becasue it's nearly all teenagers stabbing teenagers in London. Anyone who lives north of London will tell you the news media hardly ever focus on issues elsewhere. If it doen't happen in London it doesn't happen at all, and if it does happen in London it's MAJOR news.
Ask Glaswegians about knife crime, they've had it for years but it hardly ever gets mentioned.
