Yes and no, there are only very few free adult blog hosts surviving a long time, seen at least a dozen close shop after a few months, sometimes weeks. So yes, they are a nice addtition for SEO purposes, if they have a decent spammer protection and are run by someone who doesn't start redirecting once the google traffic starts rolling. I just wouldn't invest too much time in them, with a few exceptions like thumblogger and xlogz.
Even after years, some suddenly disappear, like pimpis.com or justwank.com, two pretty early birds.
