Believe it. Unlike other sexually transmitted diseases, condoms do a fairly inadequate job of protecting against the spread of genital herpes or genital warts. Some people get warts or herpes on the inner part of their thighs, others on their ass or asshole, and yet others on their nutsack. During sex, those parts of the body rub up against each other, and the STD is passed through skin to skin contact.
