ya since the government did such a good job controlling oil prices the first thing I think of is they should start funding something else

Let the market work here. With these prices people will WANT to buy other things. And will be looking for cars like the air car that is coming out next year. And more car companies will be following benz lead and will start to create cars that do not run on gas.
