I've read this countless times on this, and other, forums. No one gives a fuck how YOU like to do it. It's about how the member, or returning customer likes it. This almost always comes up in the whole pretty website design discussions.
Pretty websites are for webmasters. Not surfers. Surfers want good...

2. Navigation.
3. Download speeds.
4. Consistent updates.
5. Support. Interaction.

I have all those. But instead of "download speeds" we have instant video playback.
Yes Im a webmaster, but lets be frank, I wack it too. Even with Dixie Dash around the house lol. And its me as a "surfer" that prefers streaming. Why do I want to download a full 20 minute scene when to be honest Im probably only going to need 10 minutes of it.
Lets take a poll here. Does anyone really watch a full scene? I doubt the majority do. So not only are you letting your content out into the wild with no control over where it ends up, you are wasting bandwidth to the tune of 50% of all videos viewed. So now you have to spend time chasing down copyright infringers which also cost you money. Then your exclusive content is dilluted by it being out there. No one wins there. So because of the extra financial expenditures due to allowing those great members to download those videos you are unable to shoot more content for the site. At least less than you would be able to do with the extra cash from wasted bandwidth and chasing pirates that is. So in the end the customer suffers too.
But keep worrying about those minority of members that might get pissed, many of whom are probably some of the ones spreading around your hard work for free.
